If you go walking in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London, Berkshire or the Chilterns, then do check out Fancy Free Walks. You’ll find over 350 walks of various distances and difficulties.

There’s a really helpful section that tells you if you’re likely to encounter nettles in the summer, how muddy it might be in the winter, what footwear is needed and whether the walk is dog friendly.

Each walk has its own sketched map and detailed description. The routes can also be shown on Google Maps and saved as a GPX file.

All the walks show the date they were last updated and many are regularly. I really like the extra information added about wildlife you might see, things to look out for or the history of some of the landmarks you pass.

I’ve enjoyed every walk I’ve tried and found the directions to be very accurate. Good stuff!
